Restorative Yoga

Sunday, 21.04.2024 3:30-5:30pm with Ingrid Bretan

In Restorative Yoga one dwells in the asanas in a very gentle way. The muscles relax completely and, unlike in Yin Yoga, there is no stretching. Calmness, silence and the feeling of being carried are in the foreground. Thus, Restorative Yoga is based on the teachings of B.K.S. Iyengar, who gave yoga a new direction through the use of assistive devices. You support and cushion yourself in a posture with blankets, bolsters and blocks so well that nothing pinches, pulls or hurts. In this way, the body comes to rest completely in gentle forward bends, backbends, inversion postures and twists – supported, cradled, secure and supported. These restorative postures relieve stress, calm the nervous system and strengthen the immune system. Thanks to the deep muscle relaxation, the smallest micro-injuries can heal, the body refuels its strength.

Treat yourself to a little time out from the overstimulation of our outward-looking world and find your way back to yourself in a healing way.

Suitable for all levels, even with physical limitations and health problems, if you are currently taking a break because of an injury, in case of great strain and stress, in case of Long Covid or for the curious who just want to give it a try.

Please bring warm and comfortable clothes and a favorite blanket or shawl/scarf.
